Q. What does the word "Photojournalism" mean?
EYES. Photojournalism
means a lot of things to a lot of people. Because it is currently a very
popular word with brides, many photographers are using the word without
photographing in a photojournalistic way. Photojournalism to us is photographing
in a very unobtrusive way, and capturing the emotion and interaction
that took place throughout the day. Formals are kept to a minimum, are
posed very quickly, and are photographed with the concentration on expression,
not perfection. Photojournalism concentrates on finding individual moments
and photographing them from interesting angles to show you a side of
your day you would never have seen. Memories that are only remembered
through photographs.

Q. While reviewing your
site, I have noticed a lot of detail images. Why do you take so many details?
EYES. We are trying to
create a storyline that brings you back to the day. A lot of our clients
plan destination weddings, and are not from the area in which they are
married in. We use the details to allow them a way of remembering exactly
what was taking place. It also allows their family and friends who could
not attend a way of becoming part of the scene, and getting a vivid idea
of what the day was really like.
Q. How many images do
you take at a wedding? How many hours do you typically stay?
EYES. Eyes On Photography
Inc. looks at a wedding as a complete event. We want to be there as you
are getting ready, and want to be there through your first dance, without
watching the clock. We are there to cover the event completely, and do
not work by an hourly rate. You hire us to complete the assignment – photographing
your wedding! Likewise, we do not count film as we are taking it, and
guarantee you a certain amount of images. We photograph the event completely,
and are looking for emotion and action/reaction imagery. 1000 images is
not uncommon. Photojournalism captures the moment, captures the mood.
The only way to do that is to take photographs!
Q. How many staff photographers
do you have? With a by-line of Worldwide Imagery, you must have offices
all over the country.
EYES. Eyes On Photography
Inc. is operated by two individuals. Andrew Osterberg is the primary photographer.
Lori Osterberg is in charge of all album design, and assists in certain
photography assignments. Worldwide Imagery refers to our philosophies
on photography, and our demand from clientele from all over. What you
see from our on-line portfolio is what you can expect from your wedding
photography. After all, it was all photographed and designed under the
direction of Andrew and Lori!
Q. Where are you located?
Why do you only have a toll-free number?
EYES. Because we are
constantly traveling for our wedding photography, we have found the easiest
way of staying in touch with our clients is by using a toll free number,
and our web site! Eyes On Photography captures images for brides across
the country, from New York, New Jersey, Florida on the east coast to the
west coast throughout California, both northern and southern California.
We have found this the easiest way of having our clients reach us whatever
our location. By providing an on-line portfolio, it allows our clients
to visit our studio any time they wish, without having to make an appointment.
Q. Do you travel?
EYES. Yes! We go where
our client would like us to be. Our web site has allowed our portfolio
to reach clients around the world, and has changed our target market.
We no longer promote to people within our city, but to all newly engaged
couples. You benefit by making your wedding photographer selection from
companies that fit your needs and desires, not just the photographers
in your area.
Q. How has technology
influenced your business?
EYES. Technology has
been an incredible asset to our business! Eyes On Photography Inc. uses
the Web inclusively for an on-line portfolio, and can share that portfolio
with you no matter what your location or time of day. Thus, we have had
clients book us from as far away as Germany! We are also a proofless studio,
and currently provide all of our imagery to our clients on the internet
with ordering and shopping cart. We than take those scans, and provide
you with a computer generated storyboard of your wedding album, and allow
you to take place in the design process. We go beyond the traditional
wedding albums providing a few formal portraits, and provide you with
a photographic essay of your day, from beginning to end. The details are
what make your album memorable, and allow you to relive each moment, each
color, each sound, each smell, over and over again.
